2 Dead In I-95 Crashes In Attleboro
Police said one of the crashes appeared to be a hit-and-run.
ATTLEBORO, MA — Two people died in crashes on opposite sides of Interstate 95 at roughly the same time Monday night. Massachusetts State Police said officers were investigating whether the crashes were connected.
At about 9:45 p.m., police responded to reports of a body in the southbound side of the highway near Exit 1. The victim, a male, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police sad he appeared to have been struck by a driver who fled the scene.
Around the same time, driver traveling northbound went off the road near Exit 5 and rolled into the woods. A person in that car died; it was unclear how many people were in the vehicle.

I-95 was closed in both directions at Exit 1 south and Exit 5 north.
