Attleboro Firefighters To Receive Firefighter Of The Year Awards
Members of the Attleboro Fire Department will be honored for rescues that took place in the last two years.
ATTLEBORO, MA — Attleboro firefighters will be honored at the 31st annual Massachusetts Firefighter of the Year Awards for rescues that took place in the last two years, said the state Department of Fire Services.
The awards, which will take place virtually on Monday, March 8 at 10:30 a.m., honor acts of bravery and community service by firefighters across the state.
At this year's ceremony, 16 awards will be presented to 76 firefighters in categories including Medal of Honor, Medal of Valor, Group Meritorious Conduct, Individual Meritorious Conduct, and the Norman Knight Award for Excellence in Community Service.

Members of the Attleboro Fire Department will be recognized for freeing a man trapped in an overturned vehicle on August 24, 2019 and rescuing an unconscious man trapped on the second floor of a three-decker house on March 19, 2020.
Other firefighters being honored at this years awards include members of the fire departments in Chicopee, Fitchburg, Hanover, Hanson, New Bedford, Rockland, and Worcester.
