Attleboro Man Admits Guilt In Child Pornography Case
He solicited sexual images through the social media platform, Snapchat, of children from ages 3-12.
According to police, Attleboro man Garry Bienvenue 58, admitted yesterday to engaging in child pornography.
On March 12, 2020, he had been arrested and charged through a criminal complaint.
Garry Bienvenue's sentence was scheduled for July 12, 2021, by U.S district court Judge F. Dennis Saylor

Law enforcement found out that he had been soliciting and receiving child pornography through social media platform Snapchat, involving a prepubescent minor, and a minor who hadn't reached the age of 12. One of the videos displayed the rape of a child as young as 3-5 years old.
These videos had been found by law enforcement when searching through Bienvenues's home and smartphone. There is a mandatory minimum sentence of 5 years, and up to 20 years in prison for the charge of receipt of child pornography alone.

There is a $250,000 fine for the charge of possession of child pornography. As well as a sentence of up to 10 years and prison, as well as a mandatory minimum of 5 years, and up to a lifetime of supervised release
Assistant U.S. Attorney Elianna Nuzum of Mendell’s Major Crimes Unit is prosecuting the case.
Sentences are imposed by a federal district court judge based on the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.
The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood. In 2006, the Department of Justice created Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative designed to protect children from exploitation and abuse.
It is led by the U.S. Attorneys’ Offices and the DOJ’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to locate and prosecute individuals who exploit children, and rescue victims involved.
