Attleboro Mayor: Private Parties Must Follow Coronavirus Rules
Attleboro Mayor Paul Heroux said the city has received complaints about violations at gatherings and parties in people's yards.
ATTLEBORO, MA — Attleboro Mayor Paul Heroux reminded city residents on Wednesday that state guidelines on make-wearing and social distancing of at least 6 feet do apply to private parties in people's yards and on their porches.
He said the recent changes in state directives were not in place earlier this summer when the city received complaints about larger gatherings where protocols were not being enforced, but indicate they will be now.
"A number of weeks ago before this order was issued, there were a number of parties and gatherings in Attleboro in people's yards," Heroux posted in a message to the community. "The police department, health department and my office received a lot of complaints about these gatherings. At that time there was no rule about it. That has changed.
