Attleboro Officers Recognized for Work in Bombing Response
Detective Kevin Fuoco and Sgt. Brett Poirier were among those who went door to door in Watertown searching for bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.
Mayor Kevin Dumas and the city councilors showed their appreciation last week for two members of the Attleboro Police Department who participated in the multi-agency law enforcement effort to find the Boston Marathon bombing suspects. Sgt. Brett Poirier was presented with resolutions at the council meeting. Detective Kevin Fuoco, who could not be there because he was on a planned vacation, was also recognized.
Fuoco and Poirier participated in the effort in Boston and Watertown as members of the Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council, which includes officers from various area law enforcement agencies. Dumas said the two were among those who went door to door in Watertown searching for surviving bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.
"It was a privilege and an honor to be there representing the city of Attleboro and the Attleboro Police Department," said Poirier after receiving resolutions from Dumas and City Council Public Safety Chair Mark Cooper. "It was an incredible display of professionalism, hard work and integrity for the officers who were there, and it was a privilege to be there."
