This is in addition to two ranking officers who assisted with the immediate response to the Boston Marathon bombings.

Eight patrolmen and two ranking officers from the Attleboro Police Department were assigned to Boston Thursday to assist with security following the marathon bombings that happened earlier this week, Detective Sgt. Arthur Brillon told Patch.

The officers went to Boston at the request of Massachusetts Major City Chiefs, anorganization of which Chief Kyle Heagney is a member.

Immediately after the bombings, Attleboro's Detective Kevin Fuoco and Sgt. Brett Poirier were called to assist with the police response by the Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council.
