Attleboro Trash Pickup Delayed for Christmas, New Year's

Attleboro's holiday trash pickup schedule: one-day delay on the weeks following Christmas and New Year's.

ATTLEBORO, MA — Attleboro's 2016 holiday trash pickup schedule has been released. For the week starting Monday, December 26, there will be a one-day delay the whole week. For the week starting Monday, January 2, there will be a one-day delay the entire week, also.

The Attleboro health department issued these trash/recycling tips for the holidays:

  • "Cardboard Drop Off: Please recycle all of your cardboard boxes. Flatten and cut to a size not larger than 2 feet by 2 feet. For curbside collection place it in your green recycling toter. Cardboard may also be taken to our cardboard drop off site at the Recycling Center at 29 Pond Street North. Regular hours are Tuesdays & Thursdays 12:30pm – 3:30pm and Fridays & Saturdays from 9:00am to 1:00pm. This will be closed December 23rd and 24th.
  • Gift Boxes and Wrapping Paper: Gift boxes and all non-foil wrapping paper can be included with your recycling. Tape and gift tags are OK but no bows or ribbons please.
  • Holiday Cards and Calendars: Holiday cards including envelopes and calendars are recyclable. Also, magazines, catalogs, mail, files, paperboard (e.g. cereal boxes), shredded paper, newspapers, copy paper, paperback books, spiral binders are all recyclable. “Anything you can tear.”
  • Christmas Trees and Wreaths: Special curbside collection during the week of January 9th through January 13, 2017 on regular collection day. Please remove ornaments, lights, tinsel and garland. DO NOT put in plastic bag.
  • Metal/Appliances/Computers/Electronics: Call 508-222-3899 to schedule a curbside collection. Televisions require a sticker from the Health Department. Stickers are available in City Hall, Health Dept. 77 Park Street, 2nd floor. Limit of two stickers per fiscal year for televisions. Over two there is a $10.00 fee per TV.
  • Residents should be reminded that much of the extra waste generated during the holidays can be easily recycled including cardboard boxes, gift boxes, wrapping paper, cards, junk mail, magazines and catalogs. These items could require the remove of tape, ribbons and other decorations prior to placing them into the recycling toter.
