ATTLEBORO, MA — Attleboro was placed under a high wind warning Thursday as gusts hit 60 mph and knocked out power across the state.
The warning is in effect Thursday through 9 p.m. The strong winds will present "driving challenges" for high-profile vehicles, according to the National Weather Service.

There were large power outages in Duxbury and Scitutate Thursday afternoon due to tree limbs being blown into utility lines.

- A HIGH WIND WARNING...IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM EDT THIS EVENING.
- LOCATIONS...SOUTHEASTERN MASSACHUSETTS AS WELL AS ALL OF RHODE ISLAND. THIS INCLUDES THE BOSTON TO PROVIDENCE CORRIDOR.
- WINDS...SOUTHWEST 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 55 TO 60 MPH.
- TIMING...DEVELOPING THIS MORNING AND PERSISTING INTO THE EVENING HOURS. STRONGEST WINDS AROUND MIDDAY INTO AFTERNOON.
- IMPACTS...INCLUDE THE POTENTIAL FOR DOWNED LIMBS AND POWER OUTAGES. DRIVING CHALLENGES FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES.
