Bishop Feehan To Join Catholic Central League
Attleboro school announced it is joining the league that also includes Archbishop Williams in Braintree and Cardinal Spellman in Brockton.
ATTLEBORO, MA — Bishop Feehan is joining the Catholic Central League. Feehan Athletic Director Christian Schatz and Feehan President Tim Sullivan said the Attleboro school will join Bishop Stang in jumping to the expanded CCL.
"All of our coaches and athletes are excited for the opportunity and challenge presented by CCL membership," Schatz said in a statement. "We will have predictable schedules against really strong programs with terrific facilities. It's a perfect fit, and we can’t wait to get started."
In recent years, Feehan and Stang, which is in Dartmouth, have been two of the three schools remaining in the three-team Eastern Athletic League. Being in a small league made scheduling difficult — especially in sports like girls soccer where Feehan is a perennial state title contender and had difficulties getting other schedules to schedule non-league games against such a powerful program. The Feehan girls soccer team won the program's first state title this past fall.

"We couldn’t be more excited about this new opportunity for our school, our teams and our kids," said Sullivan. "The CCL provides everything we could want in a conference — terrific school partners, all with a shared mission, plus highly competitive athletics that will bring out the best in our student-athletes."
In most sports, Feehan, Stang will be in the CCL Large South Division, along with Archbishop Williams and Cardinal Spellman. The CCL Large North Division is made up of Arlington Cathllic, Austin Prep, Bishop Fenwick and St. Mary's.

School officials said this will mean a 10-game schedule for most sports with home and way games against the other three South programs and a single crossover game against each North team. Feehan is not expected to have crossover games with the CCL Small schools, which include Matignon in Cambridge and Cathedral in Boston.
Officials said Feehan will remain independent in football, winter track and spring track.
