Bring Your Child to the Library on Saturday
The second annual Take Your Child to the Library Day takes place Saturday.

You probably know that this Saturday (Feb. 2) is Groundhog Day, but what you may not know is that it is also Take Your Child to the Library Day. The public libraries in Attleboro and Seekonk will have activities to celebrate the event.
"This is the second annual Take Your Child to the Library Day, a concept created last year by Nadine Lipman, a children's librarian in Waterford, Connecticut," wrote Amy Rhilinger, coordinator of Young Adult Services at the Attleboro library, in an email." Sharon Colvin, chair of the Massachusetts Library Association Youth Services Section, says that 'this is a great opportunity to encourage both existing library patrons and new families to bring their children to the library.'"
Events taking place at the Attleboro library include a scavenger hunt, bookmark and Groundhog Day mini-book making, tangram making and story telling. The activities were planned by local middle school students from the library's Junior Friends group. They will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
