Former North Attleboro Resident Indicted For A Murder In 2010
Former N.A. resident indicted for allegedly stabbing a man to death outside of a bar in Providence, RI in 2010 has been charged with murder
PROVIDENCE, RI — Jason Lopes, 33, is now being held without bail for stabbing a man to death outside of a bar in 2010 says the Rhode Island Attorney General's office. Lopes was accused of stabbing Zackary Marshall, 22, who was also a father to a newborn girl. The incident went down on Peck Street in Providence on December 18th, 2010.
Lopes who now resides in Texas was arrested earlier this week in a town northeast of Dallas called Garland. He was arrested on a warrant issued after his indictment by a Rhode Island grand jury.
Detective Angelo A'Vant came across new evidence specific to this case that was brought to the attorney general's office which led to the indictment according to Steven Paré, Providence commissioner of public safety. The evidence they revealed has not been specified.

Hugh Clements, Providence Chief of Police, said that the detectives were able to find Lopes and reached out to Texas authorities immediately to arrest him. A representative from the attorney general's office stated that it was unclear if Lopes would be returning to Rhode Island pending his case.
After 10 years, the Marshall family has gone through a roller coaster of emotion and pain but the mother, Diane Marshall, mentioned that the family was still processing the news. The attorney general has reached out and has thanked the Marshall family for their patience in solving this case.
