Hill-Roberts Principal Announces Resignation

Susan Nascimento says she wants to return to teaching.

After two years at the helm, Susan Nascimento has decided to step down as principal of Hill-Roberts Elementary School. She notified parents of her decision Monday in a letter sent home with students. Her final day on the job will be June 30.

"Having been a teacher in Attleboro for many years before becoming a principal, I have made the decision based on my love of teaching," Nascimento wrote. "I am hopeful that I will have the opportunity to return to teaching in Attleboro in September."

A district employee since 2000, Nascimento was appointed interim principal for the 2011-12 school year following the resignation of Matthew Joseph, who took a position in Natick. She lost the interim tag one year later.
