No Bail For Brockton Murder Suspect; 2nd Suspect Sought

A Brockton man has been indicted on a murder charge without bail after a fatal shooting in October of 2020.

BROCKTON, MA — Takari Elliot, 29, has pleaded not guilty to one count of murder, illegally carrying a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm, and a firearm violation under the Armed Career Criminal Statute Wednesday in Brockton Superior Court.

He is now required to be back in court on May 5th for a pre-trial conference after Judge Angel Kelley ordered Takari Elliot held without bail.

Elliot and another man by the name of Marvin Veiga, 32, were indicted by a Plymouth Country Grand Jury on March 8th in connection to the shooting of Manuel Duarte on Belmont Avenue.

Elliot was arrested March 5th on a warrant and Veiga was issued a warrant the same day but authoirites have not arrested him yet.

According to the Pymouth Country District Attorney office, Police are still on the look for Veiga who is "considered to be armed and dangerous and has a history of violent crimes".
