North Attleboro Cinema Holds Fundraiser For Injured Hockey Player

Showcase Cinema de Lux will be donating all ticket proceeds from Feb. 15 to 18 to Bishop Feehan hockey player A.J. Quetta.

ATTLEBORO, MA — Showcase Cinema de Lux in North Attleboro has announced that it will be hosting a fundraiser for A.J. Quetta, a Bishop Feehan High School hockey player who suffered a spine injury during a game last month, from Monday, Feb. 15 to Thursday, Feb. 18.

During the week of the fundraiser, which is also February school break, the cinema will be donating 100 percent of ticket proceeds to a fund set up to help with the costs of Quetta's medical bills.

"All of us at Showcase Cinemas were shocked and saddened to hear of A.J.'s accident," said Mark Malinowski, Vice President of Global Marketing for Showcase Cinemas, in a statement. "As an organization with deep community ties, we immediately knew that we wanted to help raise funds to help A.J. and his family during this difficult time."

All movie tickets for the week of the fundraiser went on sale Tuesday and can be reserved online or through the Showcase Cinemas app.

"By donating proceeds from ticket sales during February school vacation week, we hope to help make the financial burden a little lighter so they can focus on what really matters: A.J.’s recovery," said Malinowski.
