Obituary: Charles R. Henley

Charles Richard Henley Sr. of Attleboro died Feb. 28 after battling cancer. He was 76.

Henley was born in Warwick, R.I. Feb. 23, 1937. He was a lead man of the specialty metals division of Engelhard Corp. for 26 years. He also worked at Main Auto Parts for more than a decade afterward. Henley was an avid classic car enthusiast and hobby mechanic. He also served in the U.S. Army for a short period in his younger years.

He was a husband, father, grandfather, friend and colleague who will be greatly missed by those who took the time to get to know him. Henley was also the greatest man in the world for stepping in when no one else was there. 

Henley was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Ann Reed. He is survived by his sons Michael Reed, Christopher Reed and Charles Henley Jr.; eight grandchildren; and his closest friend Boomer. 

There will be no arrangements other than a private graveside service consisting of immediate family. Arrangements were made by the Foley Hathaway Funeral Home.
