Obituary: George F. Stewart

The Korean War veteran and self-employed carpenter lived in Attleboro for more than 18 years.

George F. Stewart of Hodges Street in Attleboro Attleboro died March 17 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital. He was 85.

Stewart was the husband of Kathleen (Skidgel) Stewart. He was born in Philadelphia, a son of the Richard and Matilda (Geiger) Stewart. Stewart was a U.S. Army veteran, serving as a corporal during the Korean conflict.

He was a self- employed carpenter for more than 45 years, and lived in Attleboro for more than 18 years. Previously, he lived in Norton.

In addition to Stewart's wife, survivors include son George F. Stewart Jr. of Atlantic City; daughter Theresa Turner of Norton; brother Andrew Keena of Brigantine, N.J.; sister Arleen Eliason of Tampa. Fla.; grandchildren Robert Turner, Andrew Turner, Jennifer Kalasinsky and Jennifer Stewart; great-grandchildren Jose Munoz, Jacob Munoz and Jason Turner and five step-children.

Stewart was preceded in death by his brothers Raymond and Norman.
