Obituary: Richard Paul DeCoste II, 40, of Attleboro

A funeral service will be held on Monday, Nov. 17 at the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m.

Richard Paul DeCoste II of Attleboro passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 11 from complications after a brave battle with an illness.

DeCoste, 40, lived through his illness with courage and dignity and will be remembered by all for his wit, humor, strength and loyalty, according to his obituary on Duffy-Poule Funeral Home website.

He is survived by his wife of 14 years Suzanne DeCoste, his children Lauren, 6, and Alexander, 4, and parents Richard and Joyce.

DeCoste was a lifelong New England Patriots fan and owns season tickets for 17 years. He enjoyed reading, history, and traveling with his wife and children, according to his obituary.

He was born in Boston on June 13, 1974 and raised in West Roxbury and went on to graduate from Boston Latin School in 1992 and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Entrepreneurial Studies from Babson College.

DeCoste worked at Medical Information Technology Inc. (MEDITECH) for 18 years and recently worked as a Programming Manager in Canton and Foxborough.

He is remembered by his sister Alison Bancroft and her husband Richard; brothers Patrick and Matthew; mother and father-in-law Ronald and Kathleen St.Pierre; sisters-in-law Sandra Singewald and her husband Dean and Carol Schmardel and her husband Davie; nieces Abigail and Charlotte Bancroft and Rachel Schmardel; nephews Augustus DeCoste, Hunter and Max Singewald, Matthew and Charles Schmardel; in addition to several close friends and relatives.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, Nov. 16 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, Nov. 17 at the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the service at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 133 North Main Street. A burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery.
