Obituary: Sean Patrick Thomas

He was an active and passionate coach in Attleboro Youth Baseball for many years.

Sean Patrick Thomas of Harriet Thayer Avenue in Attleboro died April 15 at his home surrounding by family. He was 54. 

Born June 6, 1958 in Brockton, he was the son of Treasa and Roy Thomas. He graduated from Newton South High School in 1976. Thomas served his country proudly as a member of the United States Navy and Army National Guard.

Following his military service, Thomas joined the U.S. Postal Service, working as a mail handler for more than 25 years until retiring due to illness. He was an active and passionate coach in Attleboro Youth Baseball for many years. Thomas enjoyed going to the beach, listening to music, and fishing. He was also an avid reader and a longtime friend of Bill W. 

He is survived by his wife Janet; mother Harriet; daughters Jessica Thomas-Wolf, Samantha Thomas-Bennet and Amber Thomas; son Andrew Thomas; sisters Kathleen Thomas, Colleen Tynan and Eileen Thomas; grandchildren Paige Thomas and Ryleigh Bennet and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral took place April 19 at the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint John the Evangelist Church. He was laid to rest with full military honors at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
