Pick Up Attleboro To Host Community Cleanup Event

The cleanup will take place Friday, April 23 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and Saturday, April 24 from 7:30 to 10:00 a.m.

ATTLEBORO, MA — Pick Up Attleboro, a town improvement initiative led by Mashpee's wine and spirits retail community, and Keep Attleboro Beautiful are co-hosting a litter pickup event on Friday, April 23 and Saturday, April 24.

The cleanup will begin from the Attleboro High School construction parking lot on Rathbun Willard Drive and run from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Friday and 7:30 to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Volunteers can register by emailing KeepAttleboroBeautiful@gmail.com and are asked to pick up cleaning supplies, including gloves, trash grabber tools, safety vests, bags, and facemarks, from the AHS construction parking lot on either day before continuing on to their assigned cleanup area.

The following COVID-19 safety guidelines will be in place during the event:

  • Practice physical distancing and keep 6 feet apart in groups of no more than six people
  • Wear rubber-lined gloves, use proper technique when removing gloves, and sanitize hands immediately upon completing your cleanup
  • Use a trash grabber tool (these will be available for volunteers)
  • Wear a face covering
  • Wear brightly colored clothing, clean up in the direction of oncoming traffic, and avoid stepping into the street whenever possible On-site organizers will provide gloves, trash grabber tools, safety vests, bags, and facemasks to all volunteers who request these supplies.

This cleanup event is part of the Great Massachusetts Cleanup, a statewide effort led by Keep Massachusetts Beautiful.
