Police Arrest Attleboro Shooting Suspect
Police arrested a suspect and recovered three guns from last month's shooting incident.
ATTLEBORO, MA — The suspect was arrested Tuesday, March 2nd, and is being held in Rhode Island on a fugitive charge, according to Attleboro Detective Lt. Timothy Cook Jr. The suspect Mark Socia, 19, a former Attleboro resident who just moved to Central Falls is also facing drug and weapons charges related to the 3 handguns recovered along with a large amount of marijuana and cash found in his apartment, Cook reported.
Jarell Rocha, 19, who lives in that apartment, is now facing drug and weapon charges but he was not involved in the Attleboro shooting. On the other hand, Socia was accused of shooting a man outside of the victim's house on Richardson Avenue on February 18th.
The victim was a 20-year-old male and was outside with his younger brother during the time of the shooting but luckily no one was injured. Police have yet to disclose the reasoning behind the shooting but they know that it was not a random act of violence.

Central Falls Police had a search warrant and found two 9 mm semi-automatic handguns and a .38-caliber revolver in addition to the marijuana and cash, according to Cook. One of the handguns was manufactured privately from polymer parts and retrieved via the internet.
Socia is facing multiple charges including two accounts of attempted assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon in his possession and one count each of illegally carrying a firearm and discharging it. The date is yet to be determined but Socia will be held in Attleboro District Court.
