School Committee Finalizes Contract with New Superintendent
Kenneth Sheehan will make $175,000 per year.

The Attleboro school district's incoming superintendent and the school committee recently reached an agreement on a three-year contract. Kenneth Sheehan will make $175,000 per year, Committee Chair Mike Tyler announced Thursday night in a press release. The contract includes renewal options for fourth and fifth years, Tyler wrote.
Sheehan was appointed last month to replace Pia Durkin by a 7-2 vote. The decision came a week after the school committee reached a deadlock in another meeting on an appointment of Sheehan, fellow finalist Anthony Azar or anybody at all. Sheehan is serving his final year as head of the school district in West Warwick, R.I., and will take over the Attleboro district July 1.
"The school committee is confident that with Mr. Sheehan, the exceptionally talented administrators of our leadership team, and the dedicated educators whose daily contributions make the Attleboro schools such great places to learn, the Attleboro school system will continue to make steady progress in the years ahead," wrote Tyler in the press release.Â
