Search For Missing Person In North Attleboro Called Off

Fire and police officials from multiple communities searched the woods near Brookside Way after receiving reports of a man calling for help.

NORTH ATTLEBORO, MA — A search for a missing person in North Attleboro has been called off after first responders from multiple communities conducted an investigation, said North Attleboro Fire Chief Christopher Coleman in a news release.

Fire and police officials were dispatched to a wooded area near Brookside Way Sunday morning after receiving a report of someone calling for help, said Coleman. Following the initial report, several other residents on Sheldonville Road also reported that they heard a male's voice calling for help.

Due to the large number of reports received by the department, a large scale search and rescue operation was organized by several local fire departments, including Cumberland, Norton, and Mansfield, and the Massachusetts State Police.
