State Trooper From Attleboro Accused Of Threatening Ex-Girlfriend
Police say Joel Devine pleaded innocent to multiple assault charges.

ATTLEBORO, MA — A Massachusetts State Police trooper has been suspended without pay after being accused of threatening his ex-girlfriend with a gun, reported The Sun Chronicle.
Police say Joel Devine, 28, pleaded innocent in Attleboro District Court Friday to charges of domestic assault, assault by means of a dangerous weapon, and uttering threats to kill.
The charges against Devine, who graduated from the state police academy last May and was stationed at the Holden barracks, stem from threats he made on four occasions from July through September 2020, according to court records.

Devine was let go on $10,000 cash bail with a GPS monitoring bracelet. He was also ordered to surrender any weapons and his firearm license, submit to random alcohol testing, and obtain a mental health evaluation.
