U.S. Senate Primary Takes Place Tuesday

Polling stations will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

This may come as a surprise to some (maybe many) people, but there is an important election Tuesday in Attleboro and the rest of Massachusetts. Republicans and Democrats will vote to determine the nominee for their respective parties in the special election for the U.S. Senate seat formerly held by now Secretary of State John Kerry.

The Democratic ballot includes U.S. Reps. Stephen Lynch and Edward Markey. Also running for the party's nomination is write-in candidate Brett Rhyne. The Republican ballot includes businessman Gabriel Gomez, former U.S. Attorney Michael Sullivan and state Rep. Daniel Winslow.

Voting will take place from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the following locations:
