Vigil for Marathon Bombing Victims Takes Place Tonight

Here's a look at what's happening in Attleboro.

1. A candlelight vigil for the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings will take place at La Salette Shrine (947 Park St.) at 7:15 p.m. It will begin after the Mass that starts at 6:30 p.m.

2. The city council will meet in committee sessions tonight. Before the sessions begin, members of the Attleboro Redevelopment Authority board will make a presentation to the council on "an update on their projects and activities and any other legal matter that may come before the council," according to the agenda. The presentation is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

4. Did you know April is Jazz Appreciation Month? The Attleboro Public Library is celebrating the month with a display of jazz CDs, books and magazines in the first floor atrium. In addition to seeing the items at the library, you can borrow them.

5. The National Weather Service's daytime forecast calls for a 70 percent chance of rain (mainly after 11 a.m.), cloudy skies and a high near 47. At night, there is a 60 percent chance of rain (mainly before 9 p.m.) as well as cloudy skies and a low near 42.
