2-Alarm Fire In Back Bay Causes $1M Damages: Boston Fire
Firefighters were called to a 3-story building in the Back Bay Wednesday night.

BOSTON, MA — A 2-alarm fire at a building under construction in the Back Bay Wednesday night caused some $1 million in damages, according to Boston Fire Department officials.
No one was in the building at the time of the fire and there were no injuries reported, according to Firefighter Marc Sanders, a spokesman for the department.
The call came in about a the fire at 22-24 Cumberland Street at 7:38 p.m.Wednesday, and when firefighters got to the three-story brownstone, flames were showing. The only access was through a narrow alley, according to fire officials on Twitter.

Officials said the fire seemed to start in the basement and then climbed to the first floor. Within the hour firefighters had put the flames out, but had to break through walls to do that and make sure the flames were out.
Fire officials said just what caused the fire is still under investigation.
