2 Men Arrested After Shots Fired In Back Bay
Police said a window at a building at Hynes Convention Center appeared damaged from gunfire.

BACK BAY, MA —Police arrested two men Sunday morning and charged them in connection with a shooting that damaged a building near Hynes Convention Center on Boylston Street.
Just after 2 a.m., Sunday, someone reported hearing gunshots near 867 Boylston Street in the Back Bay. When police arrived someone gave them a description of two men and the car they reportedly drove off in, according to police.
Police searched the area and found a car they said they believed matched the description of the suspects' car.

"Upon interacting with the operator and the passenger, officers removed both individuals from the vehicle and subsequently located a 9mm Ruger firearm inside of a bag underneath the passenger’s seat," police said in a statement.
Detectives found a window at 888 Boylston Street damaged by gunfire, police said.

Police arrested the driver, Mario Escobar, 28, of Roxbury and Carlos Perez-Mejia,25, of Jamaica Plain. They will be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, carrying a loaded firearm on a public way, malicious destruction of property and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling.
