Boston Marathon Race Updates: 2013 Winner Claims Second Title

The first place winner in the men's race had a time of 2:09:17 while the victor in the women's circuit ranked with a 2:24:55 finish.

The 119th Boston Marathon is still going strong and many runners, whether qualified or in support of a charity, will be participating in the Monday, April 20 event throughout the day.

With that being said, the men’s winner was named shortly after the clock turned to noon Monday. Lelisa Desisa, Ethiopian long-distance runner, took first place. Desisa won two years ago and donated his marathon medal to the city in a show of support for Boston after the bombings.

Caroline Rotich, Kenyan long-distance runner, took the number one spot in the women’s circuit.
