City's Back Bay, Beacon Hill Neighborhood Liaison Moving On
The Mayor's Office of Neighborhood Services is currently seeking his replacement.

BOSTON, MA — The mayor's neighborhood liaison for Beacon Hill and Back Bay, Jacob Wessel, is moving on, taking another post in City Hall.
In a letter to the neighborhood, Wessel wrote the Office of Neighborhood Services is currently interviewing candidates to take his place. In the meantime, residents with constituent service inquiries can call 3-1-1 for assistance.
We've included the going-away letter in full below. Happy trails, Jacob!

Dear residents of Back Bay and Beacon Hill,
It has been my absolute pleasure serving as Mayor Walsh’s Neighborhood Liaison for your neighborhoods. But, all good things must come to an end.
From convening evening meetings about zoning variances to helping new small businesses open, I have come to learn a lot about the workings of the City of Boston and all that government does to improve our daily lives. I have also learned a great deal from the many long term residents and activists who put in tireless hours participating in our government to improve our city.
Starting in the next few weeks I will begin to take on my next challenge as the Director of the City Hall to Go program. I look forward to continuing my work with Mayor Walsh and the employees of the City of Boston to better serve constituents and engage Bostonians with their government.
I have learned a tremendous amount from all of you about Boston’s history and about the character of our neighborhoods. Working in the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Services has been a great joy as I have come to truly understand the nuts and bolts of many aspects of municipal government.
Thank you all for the time we’ve spent working on improving the neighborhoods and, as always, I hope to see you around the neighborhood.
Sincerely,
Jacob
