Costumed 'Canine Promenade' Planned on Esplanade

Get your costumes and cameras ready.

BOSTON, MA — Truly, is there a better way to celebrate Halloween than putting your pet pup in an adorable costume and parading him around?

On Oct. 23, the Esplanade Association's Canine Promenade lets pet owners do all that, plus benefit one of Boston's most beautiful and iconic parks. In particular, funds raised will support the ongoing restoration of the Esplanade's pet-friendly Lotta Fountain.

According to the association, the Promenade is a half‐mile Halloween costume parade around the Esplanade "to benefit the park, highlight the park as a resource for dog owners and to raise awareness about park improvements." Dogs (and their owners) are encouraged to dress up, in the spirit of the season.

The Canine Promenade is $15 per dog, for tickets bought before Oct. 20, and $20 the day-of. Registration starts at noon on Fiedler Field, and the parade marches forward at 12:20 p.m.
