Helmet Vending Machine Coming to Copley Hubway
Also, the Storrow Drive Tunnel gets a dubious honor in today's Five Things.

Good morning, Back Bay! Here are five things you need to know today, Wednesday, Aug. 7:
1. HUBWAY GETS HELMETS: The Boston Globe reports helmet vending machines will be placed at the Boston Public Library Hubway station in Copley Square and three others this month. Read more here.
2. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Not-really-breaking news: The Storrow Tunnel is in bad shape. It's in such bad shape that Leisure + Travel Magazine recently named it the worst bridge in the United States. Not really the kind of honor you want. Read more about it here.

THIS DAY IN HISTORY: On this day in 1947, Kon-Tiki, a balsa wood raft captained by Norwegian anthropologist Thor Heyerdahl, completes a 4,300-mile, 101-day journey from Peru to Raroia in the Tuamotu Archipelago, near Tahiti. Heyerdahl wanted to prove his theory that prehistoric South Americans could have colonized the Polynesian islands by drifting on ocean currents.
