High Back Bay Rent Forces Thai Restaurant On Boylston St To Close
Chilli Duck On Boylston Street has closed for good, according to signs in its window.
BACK BAY, MA — A quirky spot for Thai food that's been around for more than a decade is closed for good, because the owners couldn't afford to rent the space any longer.
Chilli Duck, which is situated just past Trader Joe's on Boylston Street and just before the Apple Store, has two signs posted to the front window explaining that because of high rent, the restaurant is closed for good.
Inside, it appears the restaurant is in the process of being packed up. A couple black trash bags sit full on the floor near the counter, fish are missing from the once full tanks, and paintings have been pulled down from the walls. Packing boxes sit on chairs.

Chilli Duck opened about 15 years ago, offered Thai food with fresh ingredients; from (you guessed it) Chili Duck, to tom yum soup, Pad Thai and lunch specials to Tofu Tamarind.
