Large Development Proposed at Back Bay Station
Boston Properties announced its intention to build a mixed-use space at the MBTA hub.

The Back Bay Station concourse may soon have a new “transit-oriented development” containing office, retail and residential space near the former John Hancock Tower.
Boston Properties plans to build a 1.4 million square-foot development near its 200 Clarendon, Boston Business Journal reported. The developer notified the city of its intention in a letter, but provided few details of its plans, other than the project will integrate ”with the garage and station into the Back Bay and surrounding neighborhoods.”
Boston Properties plans to file more information with the city in coming months on the proposed project, the journal reported. The company manages the Back Bay Concourse, an MBTA station and garage at at 165 Dartmouth St.
