Longtime Taj Doorman Retires After 66 Years

Norman Pashoian greeted many celebrities in his time working at the hotel since 1947.

The Boston Globe has a story Thursday on a man you've likely seen if you've ever visited the Taj Boston hotel on the corner of Newbury and Arlington Streets in Back Bay since 1947.

The Globe reported Wednesday was the last day on the job for doorman Norman Pashoian after 66 years greeting and helping guests.

Pashoian, 85, told the newspaper he met the likes of Jacquelyn Kennedy Onassis, Joe DiMaggio and Ted Williams among many other famous celebrities back in the days when the hotel was the Ritz Carlton.
