Meeting Planned to Discuss Lotta Fountain Rehab
Plans include restoration of the fountain-fed basin for dogs.
Boston, MA - Dog walkers wondering why the Lotta Fountain has gone dry need worry no more -- the state Department of Conservation and Recreation and The Esplanade Association are hosting a public meeting to discuss a timeline for rehabilitating the historic Esplanade Fountain.
The DCR and the Foundation will will present the plans and schedule for rehabilitating the historic Lotta Fountain, Mon., June 13, from 6:30 - 8 p.m. at 21 David G. Mugar Way. Those who can't make the meeting can view the presentation online here afterward.
The rehabilitation project includes restoration of the fountain-fed basin for dogs, the conservation of the sculptural stonework, accessibility upgrades and other improvements. The project is jointly funded by DCR and The Esplanade Association, which has been fundraising for the restoration here.

Work will begin in late July and is expected to finish by November.
