Peter Papagelis Named General Manager At Boston's Top of the Hub & Skywalk Observatory

Mr. Papagelis returns to Boston to manage Top of the Hub as the restaurant is celebrating its 50th anniversary.

John Quagliata, President and C.E.O. of Select Restaurants, Inc., today announced the appointment of Peter Papagelis as General Manager of Boston’s Top of the Hub Restaurant & Lounge and Skywalk Observatory.

Mr. Papagelis previously served as Assistant General Manager at Top of the Hub from 2006 – 2009, playing a key role in overseeing the restaurant’s spectacular multi-million dollar redesign and renovation. Bringing two decades of experience in the restaurant industry to his new role, he will oversee all management operations including staffing, sales and marketing.

Offering panoramic views of Boston and beyond, Top of the Hub is located on the 52nd floor of the Prudential Tower. The Skywalk Observatory is located directly below the restaurant on the 50th floor.

Select operates a collection of specialty restaurant concepts with properties located in Long Beach, California; Chicago, Illinois; Cleveland and Cincinnati, Ohio; Baltimore, Maryland; Pennsylvania; and New Jersey in addition to Boston.

Commenting on the appointment, Mr. Quagliata said, “Peter brings a wealth of experience to his work and has been a valuable member of the Select family. We are delighted he is returning to Boston to manage Top of the Hub as the restaurant is celebrating its 50th anniversary.”

Papagelis has previously held key positions at: Mastro’s Steakhouse in Costa Mesa, CA; Select’s award-winning Parker’s Lighthouse in Long Beach, CA; the prestigious Clubhouse Restaurant in Chicago; and Torrey Pines Golf Course in La Jolla, CA.

Top of the Hub is open seven days a week, serving lunch, dinner and Sunday Brunch in addition to offering a late night dining menu and live entertainment seven nights a week. Named one of the world’s most romantic dining destinations by The Travel Channel, the restaurant is honored to have received continued industry recognition from Distinguished Restaurants of North America as well as multiple Awards of Excellence from Wine Spectator magazine.
