Retrial For Man Accused Of Fatal Shooting Near Trinity Church

Jurors were deadlocked, according to the District Attorney.

BACK BAY, MA — Jurors in the trial of a man accused of fatally shooting a 22-year-old father of two in the Back Bay where he collapsed under the shadow of Trinity Church five years ago declared themselves "hopelessly deadlocked" this morning, the district attorney's office announced.

After Ahmir Lee was shot, witnesses said they saw a man, later believed to be Michael Jordan,30, wearing a blue Hawaiian style shirt and getting into a specific type of car. What's more investigators told the court that that type of car was often found near Lee's home prior to the shooting. Police found a car matching that description belonged to Jordan. After an extended grand jury investigation, Jordan was arrested and indicted in February 2015.

A hearing to schedule his retrial was put on for May 17. Jordan is charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Lee in the Back Bay. Lee was shot in the chest just after 11 p.m. on Aug. 22, 2013, and collapsed in the shadow of Trinity Church with fatal injuries.
