Small Business Saturday: Meet the Newbury Street Participants

Boston's boutique shopping hub has a number of participants in Small Business Saturday 2016.

BOSTON, MA — Small Business Saturday is like the calm after the storm, the time to step back from a whirlwind of big box store shopping, take a deep breath, and survey the local landscape.

This year shoppers are asked to “Shop Small” on Saturday, Nov. 26.

We at Patch love to support our community businesses, and we're happy to share this list of participating stores provided for one of Boston's best-loved local shopping destinations, Newbury Street:

Misha & Puff (a soft and cuddly pop-up we wrote about last week)

Misha and Puff was founded in 2011 by Anna Wallack after her baby son spent his first New England winter keeping warm and cozy while swaddled head-to-toe in knits she had made. Drawing on over ten years of experience as a stylist, as well as personal understanding of what works well for little ones, she created a collection that is special yet unfussy, a way to share our love of the thoughtfully designed and handcrafted.

York Athletics

Boston based, family owned York Athletics is redefining the athletic apparel industry. Backed by an impressive roster of accomplished and eccentric brand ambassadors including top snowboarders, cyclists, tattoo artists and boxers, York Athletics has built a high quality and intentionally understated line of lightweight performance trainers and accessories.

The Third Piece

Third Piece is a luxury knitwear line owned by two trendsetting Boston women. Known for its high fashion and youthful approach to knitwear, The Third Piece designs luxury hand-knit accessories that are either “Made By Us” or “Made By You”. Each piece is either hand-knit by a network of Boston based knitters or available as a DIY “Knit Kit” for customers to knit themselves.

deWolfe Leather Goods

Boston based entrepreneur has catapulted into the leather crafting scene with her handmade, customizable line of leather bags, wallets, and accessories. Her inspirational story is at the heart of the brand, featuring the signature “Wolfepack” back pack. You may even catch Gina herself cutting and stitching her beautiful pieces in the bay window of her Newbury Street pop up.

Janji

Janji is Boston based athletic wear company with a philanthropic backbone. Approximately 10% of each sale goes towards constructing, implementing, and maintaining clean water projects in various countries around the world. The Janji team celebrates the robust running community in Boston and often hosts unique trail runs and events.

Ball and Buck

Ball and Buck is an outfitter made for the sporting gentleman. Their mission is to build products and experiences that set the benchmark for quality and become more valuable with age. They’re an all American company built on hard work, honesty, and integrity.
