Stabbing In Copley Square: Boston Police Investigating

Thursday evening a homeless man collapsed on a bench in Copley with serious stab wounds to his neck.

BACK BAY, MA — Police are investigating after a homeless man was stabbed in the neck during a fight in Copley Square Thursday evening.

The stabbing happened around 7:25 p.m. near the intersection of Boylston and Dartmouth streets and the man made his way across Boylston to a bench, police told reporters Thursday night.

The man who was stabbed was taken to hospital with serious injuries but was expected to survive, police said. A relative of the man, told WCVB his neck was slashed.

Copley Station closed down for a bit as police investigated the area Thursday evening.

A photo of the bench on Dartmouth Street facing the Public Library showed the area covered in what appeared to be blood.
