UPDATE: Report of Suspicious Package on Commuter Rail Train

Fifteen to 20 minute delays for train, which was briefly stopped

Shortly after 8 a.m. on Tuesday morning, there were reports of a suspicious package on board a commuter rail train stopped at Tuttle Street in Wakefield.

The MBTA reported that the Haverhill Line train 263 (7:50 a.m. departure from North Station) was stopped before Wakefield Station because of police action.

Transit Police were being called to the scene.

By 8:30 a.m., the commuter rail train was moving again and on its way to Reading. The MBTA said to expect 15-20 minute delays on the line.
