BARNSTABLE, MA — Coronavirus cases continue to drop across the country while the number of those who are fully vaccinated continues to rise, which means there is even more reason to celebrate this Independence Day. July 4 is almost here, so it's time to find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near you.

Fourth of July fireworks return to Barnstable for 2021, and there are several municipal lots in downtown Hyannis for people to park for the show and other Independence Day events throughout the day. Parking in Hyannis Center is free for up to six hours. All-day permits can be purchased here.
The Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority (CCRTA) also has hourly parking available after the first 30 minutes free at the Hyannis Transportation Center. Long-term parking is also available for daily rates.
CCRTA will be operating on its regular routes with a loop every 45 minutes throughout the day.
Normally the service ends at 9:00 p.m., but service will be extended as needed to accommodate
riders following the fireworks.
Barnstable's public and resident only beaches gates close at 10:00 p.m. Kalmus Beach closes at 4 p.m. and is open for handicap parking only (permit must be shown
at the gate).
What: Barnstable Village Parade
Where: Barnstable County Courthouse and surrounding streets
When: 10 a.m., July 4
A 1.2 mile parade of decorated cars, floats, police and fire vehicles will leave the Barnstable County Courthouse Complex parking lot travel east on Route 6A. It will then turn left on Millway then right on Commerce Road back to Route 6A, right on Route 6A through the village to turn left on Parker Road, continue on to Church Street, turn right on Route 149, right on Route 6A and returning to the county parking lot.
What: Cotuit Parade
Where: Starts on School Street
When: 11:30 a.m., July 4
The Parade begins on School Street (some walkers and fire vehicles line up
on High Street and then turn onto School Street), then left on Main Street and continues down
Main Street to the former Cotuit Elementary School.
What: Hyannisport Mini Marathon and Parade
Where: Begins at Hyannisport Post Office
When: Mini marathon at 9 a.m. and parade at 11 a.m.
The traditional fun run starts at the post office and is followed by the parade, starting from the same location. The parade will go down Longwood Avenue; taking a left onto Washington Avenue; a right onto Lafayette Avenue; left onto Winchester Avenue; a left onto Scudder Avenue and continuing onto Dale Avenue to the West Beach Club.
What: Hyannis Marina Boat Parade
Where: Hyannis Harbor
When: 2 p.m., July 4
Boats are invited to line up starting at 1 p.m. at the marina. The parade enters
the Harbor at 2 p.m., where spectators will find interactive family activities taking place at
Aselton Park from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., as they cheer on the boaters and enjoy the decorated
vessels.
What: Hyannis July 4 Celebration
Where: Hyannis Village Green
When: 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., July 4
The Hyannis Village Green will have loads of family activities, including
the Roaming Railway that loops around the Hyannis Village Green and Harbor Overlook brick
pathway and the interactive Fun Zone with games.
The town band plays on the bandstand from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., followed by special guests, Mamma’s
Marmalade. Since their formation in 2014, the five-piece string band has created their own sound by fusing bluegrass, Americana and rock.
