Barnstable Lacrosse Goalie's EMT Training Helps Injured Opponent

Barnstable goalie Morgan Dardia helped a Nantucket player who got injured during a collision at midfield.

BARNSTABLE, MA — Morgan Dardia is the goalie for the Barnstable High School girls lacrosse team, but the ball isn't the only thing she saved during Monday's game against Nantucket. Dardia used her recent EMT training when an opposing player got hurt.

During the game, there was a violent collision at midfield. A Nantucket lacrosse player took a knee to the mouth and fell to the ground bleeding — and Darden was the only one around to help, she told CBS Boston.

"Our trainer was over on a different athletic field and couldn't get there in time, so I just took it upon myself to walk over and help as much as I could,” Morgan told CBS Boston. "She was in pain and shaken up."
