Barnstable Memorial Day Parade Canceled Amid Coronavirus
Barnstable town officials said Channel 18 will share special programming during to honor veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice.
BARNSTABLE, MA — Town officials have canceled Barnstable's annual Memorial Day Parade and th John F. Kennedy Memorial Trust Committee's Memorial Day ceremony. The festivities were canceled amid the coronavirus pandemic.
"In these unprecedented times, our first priority is the health and well- being of our community, town comunciation director Lynn Poyant said in a statement. "We hope that you will take a moment during your Memorial Day weekend to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country."
Town officials said Channel 18 will share special programming during the weekend, and they will be shared via the town and Channel 18's social media accounts.
