Barnstable YMCA Hosting Blood Drive
Donors will receive a free Target gift card if they help replenish the Cape Cod blood supply.
BARNSTABLE, MA — Are you looking for a way to help others and make a difference in the community?
The Cape Cod YMCA in West Barnstable is hosting a blood drive from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Thursday to help replenish the region's supply.
During the coronavirus pandemic, getting blood donations has become even more critical, according to hospital officials. Cape Cod and Falmouth hospitals need at least one week's worth of blood on hand at all times, since each unit collected or purchased only lasts 42 days.

All blood collected at the drive will stay on Cape Cod. Donors will also receive a Target gift card.
