Cape Cod Community College Closes Coronavirus Vaccine Clinics

Instead, the Harborview Conference Room at the Barnstable County Complex, will serve as a new weekly vaccination site.

BARNSTABLE, MA — Cape Cod Community College will no longer hold coronavirus vaccine clinics on campus, Barnstable County health officials said Thursday.

Instead, beginning July 1, health officials will hold weekly vaccine clinics in the Harborview Conference Room at the Barnstable County Complex. The conference room is at the top of the hill at the complex at 4195 Main St. in Barnstable Village.

Officials said they'll host vaccination clinics at the complex from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., every Thursday. The Pfizer vaccine will be offered to anyone over 12, and the Johnson & Johnson vaccine will be offered to anyone over 18.

County health officials praised Cape Cod Community College and its leaders for their help vaccinating Cape Cod residents during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We could not have provided such outstanding service to this community without use of their facilities," said Sean O'Brien, the director for the Barnstable County Department of Health and Environment. "The traffic flow, parking and availability of a large indoor space were precisely what we needed to pull off such a successful vaccination effort, and we are extremely grateful for their contribution."

The college hosted 48 vaccine clinics and administered more than 22,000 doses with its Barnstable County Clinic. That number doesn't include several additional clinics the school hosted for Cape Cod Healthcare.

Cape Cod Community College also served as a drive-through COVID-19 testing site in the early stages of the pandemic and was praised by Gov. Charlie Baker for its layout and efficiency.
