Cape Cod Healthcare Opening New Cardiology Doctors' Office
The new practice in Chatham will be led by Dr. Elissa Thompson. She will also continue seeing patients at the Hyannis location.
CHATHAM, MA — Cape Cod Healthcare will open a new cardiology practice in Chatham, hospital officials announced Monday.
The Cape Cod Healthcare Cardiovascular Center will start serving the region out of the Oppenheim Medical Building at 1629 Main St., beginning June 23.
The new practice will be led by Dr. Elissa Thompson. Thompson is a cardiologist with Cape Cod Healthcare and will continue to practice at the CCHC Cardiovascular Center in Hyannis, as well as the new Chatham location.

She has seen patients on the lower Cape since 2016 at the CCHC Cardiovascular Center in Harwich at the Fontaine Outpatient Center.
"I am excited to be a part of this initiative that will benefit a community where I live and work, and support the growing need for exceptional healthcare," Thompson said. "It is an honor to have helped build a superior program that is now ready to expand cardiac services to the most at-risk and underserved."

The Oppenheim Medical Building was funded with a donation from David and Gail Oppenheim. In addition to the new cardiology services, outpatient rehabilitation services and lab services are also provided at the Oppenheim Medical Building.
