Hyannis Harbor Hawks Rally Back But Lose In 9th 4-3 To Falmouth

Hyannis wasn't able to hold on and force extra innings losing 4-3 on a walk off double from Catcher Maverick Handley.

FALMOUTH, MA — The Hyannis Harbor Hawks rallied back in the top of the ninth inning to tie the game after being down 3-0 to the Falmouth Commodores. Ultimately, Hyannis wasn't able to hold on and force extra innings losing 4-3 on a walk off double from Catcher Maverick Handley.

Hyannis scored all their runs in the top of the ninth inning. Two runs from the Harbor Hawk's rally were driven in with doubles from William Holland and Adam Elliot. Eric Rivera also added a sacrifice fly.

Pitching for both teams was good enough to win in this low scoring game, but Falmouth's starter Mitchell Stone gave his team five scoreless innings with three strikeouts. Falmouth Reliever Jack Little struggled giving up all three Hyannis runs in their rally, but finished with the win for the Commodores.

Hyannis Starting Pitcher Houston Roth pitched 4 innings giving up two runs. He finished with five strikeouts. Reliever Brett Schulze ended up with the loss giving up the walk off double with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning.

The Hyannis Harbor Hawk's fall to 14-9-2 on the year, but remain in second place in the Cape Cod League's West Division. Their next game is tonight at 6 p.m. on the road against the Bourne Braves.
