Osterville Farmers Market Returns In-Person

The Osterville Farmers Market has returned after several months of operating virtually.

BARNSTABLE, MA — A staple of spring and summer in Osterville is returning in-person for the first time in several months.

Amid the coronavirus crisis, the Osterville Historical Museum's Farmers Market had to shift to a virtual format to supports its farmers and small artisanal shops that were feeling the economic hardships of the pandemic. But starting Friday, vendors can sell their goods again in-person outside the museum.

Given the need to maintain social distancing, museum officials established some safety guidelines to keep people safe while they enjoy the farmers market. They include:

  • Masks are required.
  • Social distancing is required.
  • No pets.
  • Entrance and exit only via the seashell driveway on the Parker Road side of the museum. Parking is available behind the boat shops. Please no parking on the street. (The back field is reserved for vendors.
  • The museum buildings remain closed. There are no restrooms or garbage barrels.

Museum officials recommended shoppers preorder their items whenever possible. Other suggestions included making a shopping list, using contact-free payment methods and leaving as soon as you make your purchases.

The first week of the farmers market starts is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday. Vendors include:
