Public Statement By Ron Beaty On Economic Impact Lack of Action

- PUBLIC STATEMENT-

Does the (Democrat) Chairman of the Barnstable County Commissioners believe that the present economic devastation impacting local Cape Cod businesses and workers is not considered pressing county business?”

If so, then he is quite mistaken!

Last week, I requested that an important discussion item be placed onto our Barnstable County Commissioners’ meeting agenda for this week relative to what the County could do to assist local small businesses.

Though the Board Chairman initially agreed to do so, yesterday I received an email that the meeting is suddenly cancelled because “There is no pressing County business that has to be addressed immediately...”

I disagree, and am deeply concerned by this lack of action on the part of other elected public officials with whom I serve!
