Regal Cinemas On Cape Cod Reopening Next Month: Report
The reopening comes just in time for big-budget releases like "Godzilla vs. Kong."
HYANNIS, MA — Cineworld Group is reopening all its Regal Cinemas theaters across the country next month, including its Cape Cod locations in Hyannis and Mashpee.
The reopening comes after a prolonged closure that began in October amid the coronavirus pandemic. The reopening comes just in time for big-budget releases like "Godzilla vs. Kong" and other upcoming films like the new James Bond movie "No Time to Die."
The New York Post reported the reopening came after Cineworld struck a deal with Warner Bros. to run its movies exclusively for 45 days, starting next year.

"We are very happy for the agreement with Warner Bros, CEO Mooky Greidinger told the New York Post. "This agreement shows the studio’s commitment to the theatrical business."
Greidinger said capacity limits are rising to 50 percents at theaters in most states.

Social distancing limits may also be eased as more COVID-19 vaccines are rolled out, which means more major movies may return to theaters. Some major films last year like "Mulan" skipped the theater all together amid the pandemic and released through streaming services like Disney+ and Netflix.
